About Us

The California Youth Power PAC (CA YPP) – a sponsored committee of PowerCA Action –  builds the political power of young people of color to elect champions and hold them accountable to governing with a bold agenda that will transform our communities.

Our Vision: We believe in a California where power rests with the people, where those historically excluded from economic, socio-cultural, and political decision-making have an equal say in determining our state’s future. We believe that achieving true racial and economic equity requires an inclusive democracy where young people of color lead the way in shaping the decisions that affect their lives and their families. 

Our Work: By 2028, 18-34-year-olds will be California’s largest voting block. 75% of voters under the age of 25 are young people of color. PowerCA Action has held 609,000+ conversations with young voters, registered 100,000+ to flex our power at the polls, and trained 7,000+ young leaders to organize and run field campaigns across the state.

CA YPP is channeling this grassroots power into political action by endorsing, electing, and elevating young leaders of color who reflect and represent our communities. Now is the time to back leaders with the courage and vision to fight for equity, justice, and bold transformation throughout California.

Our Priorities

We’re tipping the scales toward justice by: expanding access to voting, preparing and developing young leaders to run for office and govern boldly, and electing champions who will advance a progressive, youth-centered agenda. 

We are especially focused on building a powerful bloc of young voters to win progressive power in California’s fish hook battlegrounds – the Central Valley, Orange County, Central Coast and Inland Empire.
